Erica Kobren is a versatile computer artist, encompassing photography, motion graphics, and graphic design. She is a graduate from the School of Visual Arts, class of 2009, where she majored in Computer Art, with a focus on motion graphics. Her thesis, Oneironaut, was a rotoscope animation exploring the world of lucid dreams. It was awarded an SVA Outstanding Achievement in Computer Art, and was included in the SIGGRAPH Asia 2009 Computer Animation Festival in Yokohama, Japan. Just recently, it recived Best Composition in the 2011 Clifton Film Festival.
After graduation, Erica pursued another passion, photography. Photography was often relegated during college, owing to the time-consuming nature of animation. She currently works as a staff photographer/designer for the Defense Acquisition University. When she’s not shooting event photography for the university, she loves to travel and explore with her camera in hand, searching for beautiful, dream-like places.
