I had a career. It came with a management title, a bespoke desk, an overpriced orthapaedic chair and a biography. The biography used clever language in an exposé of my skills. It alluded to my personality here and there but never too directly because it was aimed at corporate bods. My services didn’t come cheap, my personality didn’t matter.
These days I have no definable career. Title is academic. Grandiose as it sounds my office is the planet. The only parallel between my ex life and now is that for the purposes of cantforget.it, my personality doesn’t matter. This isn’t about me, it’s about you. It’s about making sure your life is full.
I’m here not just to show you what’s out there, but to try and prevent you from putting a camera between you and those things. After all, what’s the point in recording a memory with a camera if it means you don’t get to fully live that memory as it happens.
Your eyes have the greatest lenses ever built, your ears the most sensitive microphones and your brain has more room than the largest memory card times ten. Get out there and give filling them a good go. Don’t waste it by obstructing your senses with a camera, the camera isn’t connected to your heart.
Let me do the filming. You find the inspiration, you do the feeling, and if you can help it, ditch the office and the orthapaedic chair. They’re damn uncomfortable anyway.
