Some time ago, I found it was easier to explain many things by making images rather than using language. Perhaps I am simply more visually literate and the rawness of things comes through in my images and sounds better than in my words. I left my native Canada ten years ago and have not lived there since. Stories of the many places I’ve been and the many things I’ve done have always been ‘told’ to my people, scattered around the world as they are, by means of imagery. It is a necessity as well as a thing I purely love. Perhaps even the words I’ve used were merely descriptions of the images I kept in my head.
This way of thinking led me to a career in image-making, both still and moving. I live in Bangkok now and work in this field. I shoot films, music videos, exhibit my photographs, I work with musicians on various projects: album covers, books, video-installations, concerts. I can’t stop it, it’s just what I do…
